Spring Arrives!
A fresh new season in Salem

We enjoyed our winter Tours immensely – thank you to all our lovely guests who joined us! We also thank our wonderful Tour Partners who made us easily forget the cold. Many restaurants are changing their menus to reflect the seasonal change, so its a perfect time to visit them and see what's new. As for spring Food Tours, our dates are filling up quickly. Please visit our reservations page for upcoming Tour dates. We are also thrilled to welcome our newest Tour partners – A&J King Artisan Bakers and Harbor Sweets. We look forward to sharing more about these outstanding shops in the coming months.

Did you know? Our Tours can also be booked privately, a wonderful way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, special spring occasion, or a new move to Salem area. We also have gift certificates.

Back to Salem's Roots
Maitland Mountain Farm
When the greenhouse door swung open, the eye-popping green hue and warm air took my breath away. Heaven, I thought. It was exactly what my senses, done with this winter, were ready for. Lettuces of all varieties, many ready for picking, greeted my eyes as I made my way along the rows. Maitland Mountain Farm in Salem is a small family farm with big heart. Their organic produce – including herbs, garlic, edible flowers, horseradish, cucumbers, and more – is happily used by local restaurants and shops. And their spicy pickles send pickle lovers into a frenzy. You can catch them on Thursdays later spring at the Salem Farmers Market as well as find some of their products now at Milk and Honey Green Grocer and Salem Spice. But for now, we thought we'd share a little green to help shake off the winter. Thank you to Peter, Holly, Andy and everyone at Maitland! Click here to see all the photos.

Taste, walk, rest…
at Salem's B&Bs
Salem is home to some renowned bed and breakfasts and hotels. Warm, comfortable places that invite you to relax and leave rejuvenated. Of course, our favorite 'view' is in their kitchens – where delicious breakfasts await. This month we feature Northey Street House Bed and Breakfast. Photos: Breakfast at Northey Street House. Owner Flora's capable hands whip up a beautiful frittata, muffins, and fresh fruit for guests. More photos click here.
