Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?

Yes, thank you! With the focus on fresh food, your reservation helps the fine shops and restaurants we stop at in Salem get prepped for our visit. Check out our Tour Calendars page to see scheduled tours.  If you are looking for a last minute reservation, you are welcome to email or call us to see if there are any open spots. Salem Food Tours run throughout the year.

Are the Tours rain or shine?

Yes! Brightly sunny, romantically rainy or snowy – we walk and enjoy! Our Tours are predominantly outdoor experiences. Please prepare for the elements accordingly and check our local weather prior to your visit so you can bring what you’ll need to stay comfortable.  Salem’s zip code is 01970 if you are checking weather.com. However, if we determine that safety is an issue due to weather or unforeseen events, we cancel the Tour and offer a refund or a credit.


Thank you for understanding like theater tickets that hold your spot(s), all ticket sales are final. In the rare instance where we have to cancel an event, we will gladly offer ticket-holders a choice of either a refund or a credit for a later date.

Can children participate in a Tour?

Food Tours include wine tastings for age 21+, and we warmly welcome children and teens with an interest in food and culinary and can provide them with a non-alcoholic beverage if noted in advance. Interested parties may also want to contact us about private tours which can accommodate families with younger guests, as well as guests who might need a slower pace or shorter route. 

How do I redeem my Gift Certificate(s)?

If you have a Gift Certificate and want to redeem please click on your desired date on the calendar. Enter your Gift Certificate number located on the front of your Certificate.

May I bring my companion animal?

Companion animals are not allowed on the Tour. Service animals are welcome but require advance notice when you buy your ticket. Thank you for understanding.


Guide tipping is customary on Tours but optional. We always appreciate tips if you had a great time!

Tour Logistics

How long is the Tour?

Depending on the tour you choose, anywhere from 1.5 hours to 4 and cover 1-2 miles. You will be walking/standing for most of our Tours. Please allow for traffic when planning your visit to Salem, especially during the busy summer and fall months. You will be notified with a Final Confirmation email with your Tour’s starting location and parking options a day or two prior to your Tour date.  Kindly note due to the nature of the Tour, we must start on time. 

What is the Tour walking pace?

We move at a casual speed with a slight increase in pace when the Tour moves through some connecting downtown areas. The streets are mostly flat with a few slight inclines. Tastings are mostly outside/standing. Email us if you have any specific accessibility and pacing questions. 

How should I dress?

As casual or as fabulous as you want! However, please reward yourself and wear your most comfortable walking shoes. Please dress for the outdoors. Don’t forget to bring an umbrella or raincoat if the weather demands. We suggest keeping personal bags small and light.  You’ll want to bring a lightweight tote for any purchases you might like to make.


There are several bathrooms we have access to, and highly allowing time to find a public restroom before meeting up with the Tour. 

Where do Tours start?

Paid ticket holders will be advised via email what your starting location a day or two prior to their Tour.

Is there time to shop on the Tour?

Yes! 🙂 You will love both eating and shopping locally. Tours are timed to allow for some shopping.  Please bring a lightweight tote for any purchases you might like to make. Some stops offer Tour guests discounts. 🙂

How about water?

Please bring your water bottle. There are opportunities on the tour to purchase beverages if desired.

What if I have any food allergies or dietary restrictions?

We are happy to accommodate within our means. When purchasing tickets, please include any food allergies or dietary restrictions in the Order Notes section of the checkout form. Dietary requests must be made prior to your Tour date. Please note, we cannot guarantee every restaurant/shop can replace certain foods due to the nature of the stop. 



I’m a local—is this Tour for me, too?

Absolutely! Most of our guests outside of October season live either in or around the Salem area or within a short drive. It’s a fun way to get a whole new view of Salem. After the Tour, you will have a better understanding of all the wonderful food and dining opportunities in in the city. It’s also a terrific afternoon activity to do with your out of town guests.

Are cameras allowed on the Tour?

Yes, you are absolutely welcome to take still photos. Videotaping is not allowed unless prior arrangement has been made (media visits.)
